This is an example for Tutorial Seven:  Linking to blogs of interest and exchanging comments, me and Nessie exchange comments all the time. a scene shot  of communication  as a result of me postings on her blog.

She teaches me lots, not just about cooking, but ways to embrace life.

The other blogs of interest are to the side, MetaOT was great to look at assessments at.
  1. Was there an emphasis placed on the importance of shared meals/food at the child care centre you were at?

    1. Yes there was. It was to help with routine and what children were expected to do at meal times. The centre is one big family, it was so cool and so believes in like heaps of free play and kids discovery who they are.

So ethical considerations I took into account, was not using my niece and nephew's names in my presentation. Ask their parents consent to use the photo also. All the other images the children are happy and are in context. I have acknowledged where I sourced the images from too.

Information Technology, what is it and Ethical Issues

Information technology (IT) is “anything related to computing technology, such as networking, hardware, software, the Internet, or the people that work with these technologies” (Tech Terms, 2012).
This definition is broad but it just shows how vast the world of IT is. Basically anything that is to do with computers is IT. Now people that handle computer problems are called IT people. It shows how big IT is. Also with the add vastness with internet allowing us to be connect to most the world.
Computers have become such a big part of everyone’s lives. Now we even have phones that can connect to our computers, work like computers, and also the internet. “Many companies now have IT departments for managing the computers, networks, and other technical areas of their businesses” (Tech Terms, 2012). IT is such a big industry, having many stores specialising in it. Focusing on the internet, everyone likes to communicate on it and there are many sites but to name a few, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. Also with our course we use Moodle on the net to help with our learning. On YouTube many people like to record themselves doing things and teaching other people how to do things. Personally I used it recently to learn how to prepare a crab, just link here for more insight- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmDorauP5Ag&feature=related.
Most IT I feel ok using as I feel I have the basics and you can always build on that. Also if I ever get stuck with IT you can always search on the internet for a solution. Feel probably the most comfortable and competent with the whole internet but mainly with Google, YouTube, Facebook and Moodle as these are the ones I am always using and learn the tricks while using them. Skype; “The service allows users to communicate with peers by voice, video, and instant messaging over the Internet. Phone calls may be placed to recipients…….. charged via a debit-based user account system” (Wikipedia, 2011). It allows me to keep in contact easily with relatives and friends over sea and gives you a more personal feel as you can see the person.
Ethical implications!!!! Once you put things on the internet, people can take them and use them whatever, you pretty much have no control on it once you have let them onto the net. Need to be aware of this, and it is very hard once on the net to remove as other people can have a copy and post it back onto the net.
